Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone can throw a little info my way about the Surry show in May? Say I was goin to enter a bird in the competition, does it
have to be a single bird or can it be a pair or a group? Things like this..thanks, Brandon

2012 Taxidermy Mini Course Competition Rules
All competitors must be registered participants of the Surry Taxidermy Mini-Course
Competition entries are judged according to the National Taxidermists Association’s (NTA) specifications. Individuals may request a copy of the NTA rules in the Competition Area during the Mini-Course.
Eligibility
Open to all registered mini-course participants.
Categories
Selected by which specimen constitutes the major portion of the entry. The competition staff will resolve any question concerning the category assignment. Their decision will be final.
Birds
Fish
Reptiles
Mammals (Life-size)
Shoulder Mounts
Whitetails
Original Art
Habitats
Novelties and Crustaceans will be judged on a comment sheet, not a detailed score sheet.
No points will be assigned towards the Award of Excellence.
Habitat entries must be identified as such by the participant at the time of registration.
AMATEUR DIVISION
Multiple ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Open to individuals currently enrolled in a formal taxidermy training program or who have less than one year of practical experience and are registered for the Mini-Course.
PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
Multiple ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Anyone who has earned an Award of Excellence must compete in the Masters Division in the earned category.
MASTERS DIVISION
Single Ribbon 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each category
your piece can have either a single bird or a group, you can have them all judged or only the ones you want judged, they will be judged on an individual basis, but the group and the mount as a whole will be eligible for other awards such as the Wasco and peoples choice
