I am at a loss for words at the passing of Chris Barnhardt. I have lost a good friend today and my prayers go out to his family and friends. Chris was also a great taxidermist and a big part of the NCTA. As president, the NCTA extends our deepest condolences to his family. Please, keep is family in your prayers.
The very first time I ever went to any type of taxidermy seminar it was when Chris mounted a skunk at Surry. I remember he was an entertaining instructor(funny, full of stories) who seemed to know everything about taxidermy. He was very friendly and stayed after to answer everyone’s questions. I did not know Chris very well, but he seemed to be an outstanding taxidermist and a very good person. I was sorry to hear the news, and am thinking about and praying for him and his family and friends.
Like everyone else I am saddened and hurt by todays news. All day my thoughts have been on Chris’s family and friends. My sincere condolences to his family. May comfort somehow come to you in this time of grief and help you through the days to come. Know that we all are praying and hurting with you.
God speed and Rest in peace my friend
God bless your family

This is very sad to me. I saw Chris at HQ about a month ago and had a real nice talk with him and also really enjoyed talking and picking his brain at the N.C. show every year. As I do not know what happen to such a wonderful man I do know he is in a better place now with his maker. As I wright this I think back to all the stuff that happen at the show this year and all the things that were said about ribbons and people who are running the show. I pray that what has happen to Chris will open the eyes to the people that got so upset and truly see that none of that stuff really matters. We never know when God is going to call on us to be with him like he has done Chris. I do know that Chris would want everyone at NCTA to put their differences aside and come together as a family at this time and in the future and make the NCTA better then it has ever been. Just remember we never know if we will walk this earth tomorrow and we should always treat and love all our brothers and sisters in Christ like they will not be here tomorrow to. Gary

X2
Gary, Chris was at the Big Rock Show a little over two weeks ago, he was judging Game Heads. He was hanging around being his normal out going cheerful self while I was mounting a deer in the booth. He was talking a little smack all in good fun and treating everyone as if he had known them his whole life…..and thats the way I choose to remember him.
I know what went on at the show and what was said in the General Membership Meeting. The sad thing is, Chris Will Not Be Back, and it is every single current and future NCTA members loss, and that is truly a shame.

John, I know everyones emotions are running high right now and everyone has different ways of dealing with them. I haven’t talked to Gary, but I don’t think he meant to politicize Chris’ death. I don’t believe it is long forgotten, and I think Gary made some valid comments and I happen to agree with him.
My hat’s off to Gary for posting what most don’t have the intestinal fortitude to say. Now lets everyone calm down and take a deep breath and get through this tragedy together.
D. we can agree to disagree on this one. Gary could have waited till this has passed to bring up NCTA politics. This is a time to HONOR chris and not worry about the NCTA or any other association. Yes emotions are high right now and when emotions are high is not the right time to bring of bad sitituations from the past. This will be the last i have to say on this hopefully jeremy will see fit to remove mine yours and Garys post tomorrow. I think that would benefit everyone if removed.
John, to tell you the truth I was not at the show this year and do not even know who was or was not upset. I was not close to Chris like most of you here were. But I do know how it feels to loose some one close. If what I said upset anyone on here I am truly sorry. I was not trying to bring back stuff in the past at this sad time.
