I personaly have shot one deer in the upright position . All the rest have been everything else . And I mount my deer to show movement . I’m surprised at how many people have not been exposed to the turns and semi sneaks or wall ped’s .
Honestly do any of you guys have mounts in your shop or show room to influence poses to customers ?

I put out front what I enjoy mounting on, no point showing them something that makes my job harder, only OTS mannikins because they fit great, and only semi sneaks and semi ups, I personally prefer semi ups to all else because I believe its the most natural pose, semi sneaks just have too low of a head for my liking, if a deer carried its head in the woods that low and needed to look back, it would only see its shoulder blades, where as our semi ups it could scan the whole field of view. My 2 cents though.

But like I said only things that work for me, why would I want to show a hard turn browsing deer, that I know will take more work, when I don’t have too. Then after they look at the wall and if they decide they want something different then Ill throw open the books. Keeps the headache down, and most cases I can keep a lot of stock on hand without having to order once in a blue moon unusual forms and pay out a lot in shipping for that one form.

Yes. I will mount it any way the client wants as long as it is anatomically possible. I will not limit myself due to ” Making My Job Harder”, that is my job. “It ain’t about easy, it’s about tough”.

I try to sell a floor ped. every time a deer comes in. Why, I can make more money, it’s more of a challenge, I love altering forms and creating one of a kind mounts. The “Out Of The Box Mounts” get boring to me.
