Last time I was at the VA show as a supplier they had the supply area open for most of the day, even with seminars going on. Suppliers do not like it when this happens. It has better to have the supply area open a few hours a day with nothing going on then all day long during seminars and competition viewing.

2013 was the first Va. show I’ve missed in 4 years, just had too much going on to make it. With that said, the first thing I look at when planning my shows each year is who is judging. They dont have to come from far off, but do have to be knowledgable on the subject they are judging.

OfflineI hope many of the carolina boys (and girls) will come! I know its some awsome artist down there! Tried to set dates 2 weeks after Pa show to give a little time in between. March 20/22 i think(dont have calender in front of me). Will know for sure mid next week. Hope to have judges narrowd down then to! Will post more as i know whats up.

I don’t know what judges you have talked to but most do not like to double up on judging. Even though there are many that are qualified to judge both it is still double the work. I can speak from experience on this one. I had to judge 2 categories at one show and even though it wasn’t a “big” event, I still had to change my mindset from fish to birds and then be able to provide a hard copy of reference for each thing in each category. Just something to think about. Regardless of the dates and judges, I’m sure the Va show will be great as it always is. Good Luck!!

OfflineSounds like our board has made some connections for some good seminars and some possible judges…i hope we have these in place by our next meeting in sept. Is there any interest t in an all day class from people if u had to pay???? Does this work for others? Any intrest in the speed mount comp on deer??? Trying to find some other interest to make our show??? Feedback please!

Maybe a hands on mounting seminar, PA has been doing those and the spots fill up quick. Last year Tim Jordan did a turkey mounting one where everyone brought a turkey and mounted in class. Page Nethercutt done a bird one the year before, Head Quarters donated the forms for both.

OfflineWhats the average fee? Pre register only i ges …. how many people usually. I ges it depends on what ur mounting also for the amount of room u have. Does p.a do the speed mounting on deer? Whats the fee vs the prize?
