Why professional resume is important to apply for a job?|General Taxidermy Discussion|Forum|Taxidermy Talk

I have recently graduated from one of the reputed universities in the US. Now I would to do a job in the marketing department at https://www.contentmajestic.com/ company. I have also written a resume but it is not professional as this would be my first job therefore I don’t have the experience to write a resume in a professional manner. Lots of my friends are asking me to write a professional resume before applying for a job. My question is why a professionally written resume is important to get a job. A professional resume would not decide who I am, my talent, skills, it is just a piece of paper, so why it is that much important?
