I am working on a reproduction snake and was wondering if anyone has a matte finish that they recommend that doesn’t frost up with humidity? I was getting ready to seal in my base coat of scale detail and luckily tested the krylon matte finish on some clear plastic and it immediately frosted up. Are there any tips on how to deal with humidity in the shop. I have a window unit that cools and heats my shop.

You can usually carry it into the house if you have “climate control ” where the humidity won’t be as high. I use Modge Podge matte finish (yellow label) on most of my snakes repro and skin mounts. Brush it on and carry it into the house to dry.

That’s what I use on my duck bills and feet so I do have some available. Will the modge podge hold up well to steel wool when recreating the detail between the scales?
