Hello. I just completed my first European mount and need some help. The nose split almost the entire length. I believe what happened is I boiled it too long. Is there a way a beginner can fix this? I am going to attach a pic so you can see what I mean, sorry for the poor quality, my cell phone doesn’t do well in my dark basement.

Here’s what I would try. If you can close the gap superglue and then tie wrap it shut. If it will not close with out damaging the skull you will need to soak it in a bucket of water. When it is able to be closed tie wrap it till it dries then cut the tie wrap open the gap super glue the close and tie warp it shut. with any luck that should do it.

I like the looks of that. Super glue over time will release if it has pressure pulling it apart. Yes try to bring it back together.Try to access the inside nose. Lay skull so nose is up in the air. Cut a dryer sheet strip a little wider than the split. Slide strip inside nose and cover with super glue. This will bond the two sides together and keep them from pulling apart. Then use a little amount of glue on top. I would never use super glue on the outside. Elmer’s glue drys clear use that.
