OfflineI am just starting out doing taxidermy and I do not have a fleshing wheel. I have been considering sending out my capes to a commercial tannery, but I like the idea of having control over my product and not having to wait. I would like to know if anyone has had any luck using the flesh all mini flesher to thin down capes. Thanks in advance!
I have a mini flesher but I rarely use it. I think maybe I have used it once in the last five years!
Unless you already have one you will need to purchase either an air compressor or a foredom (depending on which model you purchase). I think you would be better off investing that money into a fleshing machine. That’s my opinion for what it is worth.

OfflineI feel that investing in a fleshing machine is the wiser choice, for me anyway. Sending capes out to a tannery isn’t a bad choice either.
I have had great success with tanneries as well as great disasters. But then again, I can say the same for my home tanning over the years.
