I’m not having any luck finding directions on using this product. Only the amount per gal. (4-8oz/gal). My question is how long do I soak the hide. I have both a deer hide & bobcat. Anyone have experience w/ this product from Van Dykes? Thanks. And yes, I’m a noob at this.

I have never heard of this product, but if it is a relaxer and your skins are dried completely hard, I would put it in your re-hydration bath to soften skin before putting in your acid pickle.

It’s from VanDykes. It’s a “bactericide/fungicide to prevent slippage during extended soaks”. I’m using it to re-work an old stiff deer hide as a test before I re-wet my bobcat rug. I was hoping I could learn from someone else’s mistakes so I don’t mess up my cat.
