Welcome to taxitalk to begin with!

You threw a lot out there so I’m going to refer you to the many articles here to start with. There are also great pages on the web like taxidermyinsider.com, taxidermyjournal.comfleshingmachines.com

All of these pages have great how to articles and you can see the different tools everyone uses and go from there with what you think you will need.

If you have any specific questions about a tool someone here can help you with it.

Good luck in your new venture.

You have ambitious goals but don’t bite off more than you can chew.  If I were in your shoes I would start with a squirrel.  Their skins are quite tough and it is not too big a critter as to overwhelm you starting out.  You can get by with very little supplies as well.  First I would order a DVD and watch it at least twice and then order supplies.  Several supply houses have squirrel kits designed for the beginner (some also include the DVD).

As for a specimen, look at the “For Sale” items on http://www.taxidermy.net or post something in the “Wanted” section.  Somebody will have something for you.  This is sad but true, there are scammers that are looking for newbie’s and will be looking to take you for all they can.  I have a list a couple pages long of known scammers.  Just be careful who you are buying from.  Research their history of sales, or post a thread, “Has anyone dealt with (fill in the name) and how did it go.

Whatever you decide, best of luck to you has you start your taxidermy endeavors!  Ask your questions on hereConfused.  Somebody will most likely have the answer to help you out.

Repeating what D. Price said, Welcome to the forum.
