how long do you let the clay firm up before you put the hide on the form? It looked too wet to work with at the end of the vid

I’ll take a hair dryer to it and in just a minute or so it is firm enough to slide a short incision cape over without messing up my clay work.

I personally, dont do any of this eye work until my cape is already on the form ( short incision cape ). I pull head of the the cape forward toward the nose of the form, do my eye work, then gently pull the cape back up in place over the eye work.
